Building Doorman

"Principal Responsibilities
Ensure building security and safety for tenants to include guest registration (check identification, call to the tenant to announce the person(s) who is visiting/ delivering, etc.), or other means to maintain security.
Provide services to tenants such as assistance with packages and luggage, help hailing a taxi cab, opening the door for them, as well as other assistance needed.
Interact with all residents, guests, and others in a pleasant and professional manner.
Answer the lobby phone and respond to calls accordingly.
Receive key release form for all new residents.
Communicate all contractor/vendor visitors to superintendent and follow visitor log check in and checkout procedures.
Maintain log reports and ensure company policy and procedures are followed.
Report incidence of a serious nature to the superintendent on duty.
Maintain neatness and cleanliness at work station, in the lobby, and in front of the main entrance.
Relieve other doorman colleagues for breaks.
Back up coverage for concierge as needed.

Able to communicate effectively with residents, contractors, coworkers, management and guests "

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
