Mortgage Underwriter

We have a fast growth client that has an IMMEDIATE NEED for a talented, hard working and experienced Underwriter to join their staff. Mid-level or Senior Underwriters are both viable!
o Responsible for all lending functions, which may include sales, funding, processing, and closing.
o Responsible for the productivity and budgetary performance of the operations department.
o Ensures efficient delivery of products and services to clients.
o Communicate the decision (approval, suspense, denial) to the appropriate individuals while upholding fair lending practices.
o Develops and implements policies and procedures.
o Familiar with a variety of mortgage concepts, practices, and procedures.
o Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
o Responsible for productivity targets, and will ensure quality and customer satisfaction.
o Performs a variety of complicated tasks.
o A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
o Leads and directs the work of others.
Qualifications
o Requires 6
years experience in Mortgage Underwriting.
o Knowledge of federal and state regulatory requirements.
o Thorough knowledge of complex personal and/or business financials, including but not limited to tax returns and balance sheet analysis.
o Excellent analytical, attention to detail and decision making skills.
o Ability to work independently with little supervision.
o Highly motivated and takes initiative.
o Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Mortgage Certifications/Endorsements preferred:
VA LAPP, SAR, FHA DE.
Alternate locations include:
Hendersonville and Brentwood, TNEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
