About the Position: This position is located at the USAG, Public Affairs Office , Fort Campbell, KY. Fort Campbell is the home of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), located on the Kentucky/Tennessee border between Hopkinsville,KY and Clarksville, TN. The area provides in expensive country living with the benefits of a major metropolitan area less than one hour away. The home of the Country Music Hall of Fame, Grand Ole Opry, and the NFL Tennessee Titans-Nashville, TN. Land Between the Lakes which lies between KY Lake (TN river) and Barkley Lake (Cumberland River) is nearby which offers abundant hunting and fishing opportunities.

You will serve as a public affairs specialist performing complete editing functions of the post command information newspaper, working independently to produce a weekly 42-page broad sheet newspaper with a circulation of more than 22,000 and an estimated readership of more than 63,000

Experience required:
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: applying a variety of standard print media communication methods and techniques to develop news releases and articles and increase communication with the public; works with media representatives and evaluating the needs and interests of the public; edit stories and articles supplied by other sources to ensure compliance with regulations, policies and Associated Press guidelines; edit journalistic print products for content, style, grammar and punctuation; program appropriate coverage of events for feature articles. Write and edit news articles in varying specialty formats by determining the appropriate level and style of coverage, such as hard news, feature stories, profiles, sports, lifestyle and travel and leisure.
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (knowledge, skills, abilities) in the following areas:
Knowledge of newspaper production, procedures and techniques
Skill in gathering, evaluating and interpreting information
Skill in Written Communication
Skill in Oral Communication.
Ability to use computers and software applications

Substitution for the GS-11 grade: You must have a Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree from an accredited college or university or LL.M., if related. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts at the time of application)
Combination Education and Experience: I have a combination of less than 3 years of higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree and less than 1 year of specialized experience. However when added together they equal to 100% of total required of education and experience. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts at the time of application)

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
